The Milwaukee nursing student and firearms safety instructor made national news in 2010 when she was arrested after openly wearing her gun to a Brookfield church service. No formal charges were filed and Sutterfield later won a $7,500 settlement from the city on her false arrest claim. This is America, and we've got our gun rights... and our jury rights.
The current case boiled down to Sutterfield's word against an officer's. Sutterfield testified that she wasn't concealing a weapon, but rather openly carrying, because her jacket was tucked behind her holster from the time she left home that night.
